About us

Pointing people toward heaven.

Seek What Is Above is a Catholic initiative based on Colossians 3:1-2, encouraging people to lift their minds and hearts to God. We aim to uplift souls on the road to heaven through exposure to truth, beauty, and goodness. Modern culture often seeks to redefine or disvalue these principles, but we turn to them as a way of seeking God. Our mission is to invite people to do the same.

The major emphasis of our endeavor is beauty, which allows people to encounter truth and goodness in a tangible way. All earthly beauty reminds us of the eternal life awaiting us in the grandeur of heaven with God, who is Beauty. In particular, we strive to point people toward heaven through sacred art in the Christian tradition—an especially rich and unique expression of earthly beauty.

“Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth.”

— Colossians 3:2 —

Our Patron

Karol Wojtyla was one of the greatest missionaries of our message. As Pope St. John Paul II, Wojtyla would say something that still rings true today:

“Beauty is a key to the mystery and a call to transcendence. It is an invitation to savor life and to dream of the future.”

Our Founder

In 2023, Margaret founded Seek What Is Above to publish The Gospel with Sacred Art. The mission has since then expanded to sharing the beauty of sacred art through other means. Margaret holds a B.A. in Theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville. She enjoys studying art history and writing about what she’s learning in light of the Catholic faith.
